April 2010
Jennifer Rosa
As one of the hardest-working and most
dedicated individuals at Uxbridge High School, Jennifer Rosa
has left a positive mark for all Spartans to aspire to. Jen
is a motivated leader; she is dependable, responsible and
“follows through on all of the details.” Her academics are
impressive as she ranks eighth in her class but more
importantly Jen brings depth and breadth to class
discussions and to her writing. This is seen with her
publication in Celebrate! Young Poets Speak Out. Teachers
say Jen is “an asset to any class” and that “her willingness
to work hard, striving for the highest possible academic
level, is passed along to her classmates…” Jen enjoys math
and science and represented Uxbridge at IGNITE at Worcester
Polytechnic Institute and Women in Engineering at UMASS
Amherst. Outside the classroom, Jen is found on the track,
where she has received league all-star recognition and has
been a member of league championship teams. When not on the
track, Jen is devoting hours a week as the Editor-in-Chief
for the UHS Class of 2010 Yearbook. Jen puts in endless
hours to sell advertisements and books, to cover events and
write copy. If she isn’t behind a camera “capturing the
moment” then she is looking at a computer screen making sure
every detail is just right. Jen continues to develop her
leadership and management skills as shift leader at Dunkin
Donuts and as an assistant instructor at the Family Karate
Center. She is an integral member of the award winning
Uxbridge Student Council where she has been a chairperson,
and a delegate at local and state conferences and the
treasurer. Jen’s willingness to give back to the community
will be missed when she graduates. Whether volunteering for
the Senior Center Christmas Party or the UHS Toys-for-Tots
Holiday Party or participating in various walks or blood
drives, Jen’s bright smile and incredible sense of ownership
makes all she participates in a great success. Thank you for
all you have given to Uxbridge Jen!
Stephen ShenoudaStephen Shenouda is an
exceptional person; he is well-rounded, motivated,
intelligent, musically inclined and has a strong sense of
character. He challenges himself in all his endeavors and
thrives on competition. Stephen is ranked 3rd in the Class
of 2010, earning a cumulative GPA of 100.52 from his AP and
honors level courses. His interest in a pre-medicine program
supports the talents and skills Stephen demonstrates in his
science and mathematics courses. Stephen’s logical,
intelligent approach to scholastics is exemplified by his
endeavors to set his college academic goals. In order to
research medical and science related majors, he volunteered
as a doctor’s assistant at various offices and hospitals in
the area. His talents, however, do not end in the classroom.
Stephen is an accomplished pianist who has composed two
masterpieces. His performances include those for his church
and Uxbridge High School as a member of the Jazz and
Rock/Blues bands. His passion for music embodies the spirit,
gentleness and sincerity of his personality; his playing is
a sweet pleasure. In addition to his music, Stephen is
Associate Manager at Niko’s Restaurant, a family-owned
business. Stephen has also traveled extensively, having
lived in Egypt and England before settling here in Uxbridge.
Stephen just recently tried out his thespian skills as Vince
Fountaine in the Drama Club’s presentation of Grease.
Additionally, Stephen is a member of the outdoor track team
and the ski club. The optimism Stephen possesses is
contagious, just like his smile. Uxbridge has been graced
with many wonderful students, and Stephen Shenouda is a
star.
