UXBRIDGE— School Superintendent Daniel J. Stefanilo is rallying teachers,
administrators and students to participate in a fun and life-affirming program
called “the FISH! Philosophy.”
The four simple practices that are the bedrock of the FISH! Philosophy, he says,
are: Do something nice, lighten up and play, make someone’s day and choose your
attitude.
Mr. Stefanilo told the School Committee this week that the FISH! Philosophy
program offers practical ideas on classroom management, improving learning,
respect, personal accountability, self-discipline and internal motivation. The
program is based on the book “FISH! For Schools: Making Education Better” by
Phillip Strand, Jon Christensen and Andy Halper.
