Kimbrly Kerr

Kymberly Kerr wants to help others and truly enjoys doing so. She strives to accomplish her personal goals using perseverance and to grow as an individual by being a life-long learner. Kym is a determined young lady. Kym sustains a solid A- average, ranks in the top 30 of her class, was named to high honors and honor roll, and challenges herself academically with AP and honors level courses. She is interested in pursuing a career in nursing, which matches her values and philosophy of supporting others and furthering her education. While Kym has showed excellence in her academics, it is her contributions to the culture at Uxbridge High School that are equally remarkable. As the vice president for the Class of 2010 and the National Honor Society, Kym has been leading her peers in activities, fundraisers and spirit since her freshman year. Her positive actions certainly support the positive and supportive words that both faculty and classmates have for her. Kym is an active participant in the Student Council participating in numerous community service opportunities including the ABC Fair at Taft Elementary School and the Uxbridge Senior Center. When Kym is not studying or supporting a noble cause, she is found on the field hockey field, on the cheerleading squad, or participating in track. Her athletic versatility has assisted her field hockey team to districts, track team to SWCL titles and cheering squad to state competitions. Her peers elected her field hockey co-captain; she received the sportsmanship award in cheerleading; and she has been named as a member of the UCA All-American Cheerleading Squad, where she will be attending the 2010 London Tour in December. Kym is a true leader in every meaning of the word. She brings brightness, joy, a sense of wonder and consideration to everything in which she is involved. Uxbridge High School is fortunate to have a Kymberly as a member of the Class of 2010.

Dennis Flores

Dennis Flores came to Uxbridge High School from Florida as a sophomore and has been an industrious, respectful and intelligent member of the class of 2010. The discipline he demonstrates with his academics is a teacher’s dream. He is timely and diligent with his assignments and understands the benefits of asking for guidance with a research paper or clarifying expectations on a project. Dennis is an exceptionally hard worker, does not take anything for granted, and sets high standards not only for himself but, by example, for his peers as well. Boasting a solid A- average and honor roll status for seven out of eight terms, Dennis impresses his teachers with his quiet, mature leadership in the classroom. Dennis takes his school work seriously and knows that his dedication will lead him to great things after graduation. Dennis finds history extremely fascinating and is interested in law enforcement or teaching as a career. Additionally, Dennis has plans to enlist in the Marines after graduation. Dennis balances his school work with a job and just this year squeezed time in his busy schedule to join the football team. His abilities and determination on the field has had an immediate impact with the team. He is highly esteemed by his peers and teammates as he leads by example and steady perseverance. Born in Brazil, Dennis possesses honesty, steadfastness and respect, all values with which he was raised. He likes to make people laugh and says he’s enjoyed his high school years. Dennis has made a nice transition to Uxbridge and we are privileged to have met and interacted with this impressive young man, in the classroom, lunchroom, halls, and the playing field.
