Katelyn O'Neil

A most sensible choice for the Senior of the Month recognition, Katelyn O’Neil embodies the definition of a balanced young woman: serious about academics, involved in school activities, active in athletics, generous with volunteerism, well-respected by her peers and staff, and compassionate to others. Katelyn prides herself on her dedication, perseverance, and ability to overcome adversity. She consistently demonstrates her incredible leadership and organization skills on a daily basis. Her teachers appreciate the hard work she puts into every assignment and class discussion; her coaches’ marvel at her passion and ability to push herself and others to be the best they can be; her advisors are impressed with her ability to handle the numerous activities and expectations thrown her way. Katelyn has tapped into her interest in mathematics and is eager to continue her education in the area of engineering. Her academic successes at UHS have prepared her for the rigorous curriculum that lies ahead. She is ranked in the top 10 of her class, takes AP and honors level courses, has completed all lab-science and major mathematics courses offered, is a member of National Honor Society, and was named to high-honors every term. Katelyn’s involvement in the Uxbridge community is exemplary. She was elected president of the award winning Student Council and has taken this position and its duties to a new level. The expectations she has for herself and others along with her creativity and dedication to detail has fostered an inviting and thriving environment for STUCO and Uxbridge High School in general. Katelyn O’Neil has only scratched the surface of her potential. She carries herself in a manner rarely seen in high school students and because of this Uxbridge has been graced by her presence and her personality.

Maxwell Leary

Recognized for his sincerity and ability to finish any task put to him, Maxwell “Max” Leary is without a doubt one of the nicest individuals roaming the halls of Uxbridge High School. Max is a responsible person whose amiable personality makes encounters with him a pleasure. Teachers describe Max as intelligent, enthusiastic, positive and driven; family and friends value the humor and loyalty Max possesses, in addition to being helpful and hard working. Max has progressively challenged himself academically; he has sustained a solid A- grade point average and has been named to honor roll all four years. He has established a creditable and solid academic base which will serve him well in his pursuit of a degree in mechanical engineering. Outside of the classroom Max displays quality leadership skills as captain of the indoor and outdoor track teams, in his participation in Student Council, and as an active member of the newly found Go Green Club, where he implemented a school-wide recycling program. The maturity Max displays on a daily basis is recognized and valued by others around him, yet it is his good sense of humor that warms any room instantly and is appreciated by all. Max is a well-respected student-athlete at Uxbridge who manages his personal challenges with the everyday and common challenges of being a teenager. Those who know Max are very fortunate and for those who have yet to meet and get to know Max, be ready to be introduced to a sincere, polite and all around great individual. Thanks for all you bring to Uxbridge, Max!
