Cassey Harrington
Cassey Harrington broke out of her shell this year. She has
always been recognized as an involved, hard working and
dedicated member of the Class of 2010. But using her talent
for leadership, Cassey has plunged into a myriad of
surprising new roles since her junior year. Last year, she
was deeply involved behind the scenes in the school’s
successful theatre program as the stage manager. This year
she continues to be part of the Drama Club but will be seen
in front of the curtain as the lovable “Frenchy” in this
years’ production of Grease. She is president of the UHS
Band and Vice President of the UHS Chorus performing arts
groups. Cassey is also very active in Student Council,
National Honor Society and Students Against Destructive
Decisions. She is a leader to her peers, less because of
conspicuous involvement and conduct than her conscientious
effort and ethical decisions. Cassey’s ability to set and
accomplish high yet realistic goals is a strength she shares
willingly with everyone at Uxbridge. Cassey is a strong
student holding a solid A- average in her honors level
classes. She is diligent in completing her assignments and
is an active participant. An honor roll student since her
arrival at UHS, Cassey is ranked in the top 25 of her class.
Cassey’s passion is with music. She is a member of the UHS
Concert, Jazz and Rock/Blues bands and the UHS Concert
Choir. Cassey will continue to develop her musical aptitude
in college as she seeks to major in either music therapy or
music education. Cassey Harrington, with her affable,
independent, sensible personality is a true gem at Uxbridge
High School. Her warm smile, willingness to help and
dedication enrich the culture at UHS.
Jeffrey Copland
Jeffrey Copland is one of Uxbridge High School’s most
respected citizens. He leads by example in the classroom,
the hallways, and the sport teams. His quiet demeanor may
allow him to “fly under the radar” at times but don’t be
fooled by his gentle and humble personality. Jeff is a
diligent worker in all areas. He is ranked 3rd in his class,
boasting an A+ average in his Advance Placement and Honors
level courses. His low-key but important contributions to
class discussions and assignments do not go unnoticed by the
UHS staff. Jeff’s academic discipline and excellent effort
are a true pleasure for teachers and classmates alike. In
sports, Jeff’s passion for running has earned him respect as
a leader both on and off the track. His talent supports his
team by earning points at the most critical of times during
meets and has helped steer the cross-country and track teams
to notable achievements. It is obvious that Jeff’s peers
appreciate his ability to lead and compete, having elected
him captain for the UHS cross-country, indoor, and outdoor
track teams for the last two years. Jeff is the Class of
2010 Secretary and a student mentor. He has volunteered his
time at the Uxbridge Town Loop Challenge, Math Day, and the
UHS Holiday Party. He was asked by administration to
represent the junior class at last years’ graduation
ceremony as the Class Marshall. Jeff’s level-headed and
mature decisions will lead him to a successful and enriching
path and his unassuming, engaging personality will ensure
him friends and admirers along the way. Uxbridge is
fortunate to know and benefit from a wonderful person like
Jeff Copland.
