Whitin EXTRA is designed to meet the needs of families with
adolescents. Recognizing that this age group has unique
gifts and talents, the program encourages the development of
a positive self-image and teaches personal responsibility
necessary for success in the teen years.
Emphasis is placed on the development of interpersonal
skills. We offer assistance with homework, introduce home
alone skills, offer club-type activities and encourage the
students to participate in after school functions and return
to our program to engage in productive activities until
their parents arrive.
